This mid-figurative mid-abstract portrait becomes clearer in hindsight. By varying the distance of observation, near it shows curve pixels that follow a curved frame and far a sharp image like a photograph. In front of your screen, squint your eyes a little. The undulating lines encode this identifiable picture to the details, such as dark circles under the eyes or translucent cigarette smoke blown through the nose. With the brush, that effect is achieved by specific pigmented shades applied to many quadrilaterals. |
These multicolored lights are zoned in surfaces both degraded and contrasted. A kind of blur increments occurs in a continuum with thousands of elements that captivate the eye locally. The irregularity of the lines is supposed to produce an original singular effect.
Very geometric grid.
Here the squares appear in both order and disorder. Kind of calculated entropy..
« What I like about the triangles are the lines that go in three directions : horizontal, oblique, and accross ! »
Through this abstract piece, the eyes are sailing like a ship over the waves.
Optical creation.
A new distorted frame that invites get lost in an abstract maze. Op art speaks less to the spirit than to the body and the retina.
Colorful configuration, hot and exciting palette.
Simple, black and gray, which acts as an optical illusion. The vortex appears to warp and spoil the view.
Shining effect achieved by alternating matte colors and metallic colors, gold and silver.
Extravagant work with hints of fluorescent pink. Structured geometric configuration.
The title NRJ, pronounced "energy" in French, is merely a reference to the three capitals letters that initiate the words : Rouge (Red), Noir (Black), and Jaune (Yellow) !
Painting in bright colors, which might remind some paintings of the artist Hundertvasser. Elements germinate and proliferate as fertile seeds.
This op art work visually evolves and is defined by three wheels : first its harmonized colors that blend in degraded surface, then its volume looming in light and dark contrasts, and finally its curves that sway like the waves of a tide. The image can lead to a feeling of movement, captivating or motor.
If I use sometimes the computer during the process, my canvas are all painted by hand.
